I still feel so silly posting these! I’m thankful to say that there is still nothing to see here (mostly because of my fears of weight gain), but I’m definitely excited for the second trimester in a month and the start of a little bump. If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw I had an epic meltdown the other day. I felt like absolute crap, and I just couldn’t rally. I’m working hard to become more accepting of this process because it’s happening, whether I think I’m ready for it or not!
How far along: 8 weeks
Gender: We’re not finding out!
Weight gain: -3 lbs…I’ve been holding steady at just under my pre-pregnancy weight, though it varies based on how sick I’ve been on any given day. Working out consistently is keeping bloat under control, too.
Maternity clothes: Nope, but I must say that my tight clothes are exceptionally uncomfortable these days, mostly because everything is just uncomfortable.
Stretch marks: No
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Sleeping is actually getting better. I’ve been sleeping like a rock, though I’m still getting up 3 to 4 times a night to pee. This baby has a sense of humor.
Best moment this week: Yesterday, the baby cooperated and let me savor Easter brunch at the Bisbee Breakfast Club. It was delicious (and not at all nutritious), and I didn’t get nauseous! Today, however, I’m paying the price.
Miss anything: I think the only thing I miss is the luxury of just being able to have a drink with my husband. I’ve been dealing with a lot of emotions about all these changes, and we used to just go and have a beer or glass of wine with friends to unwind…not so much anymore.
Movement: Nope. I think I’ll be happy when it’s movement instead of gas though haha
Cravings: I’m still craving chocolate milk on and off like there’s no tomorrow. Then I had a day where all I wanted was chocolate milk with limes, which is absolutely disgusting, but it tasted amazing at the time.
Food aversions: Cantaloupe and pineapple. It’s so weird, but I got a fruit plate at breakfast yesterday morning, and I almost vomited when I tasted both. I remember feeling sick with them on our cruise, but then again, I also thought I had norovirus.
Looking forward to: Still looking forward to the first OB appointment in 2 weeks. I think that might be the first time this actually sinks in.
