It’s the final day of 2015, which means another year has come and gone way too quickly! It’s been a hard year, but it’s also been a wonderful one, and I’m so grateful for the enormous challenges that Ryan and I faced in this second year of our marriage. We’ve faced the joys (and agonies) of home-ownership, being new parents, a TDY and a 13-hour time difference, finding our way back to our church and really finding a new normal for just us.
There are a ton of things that I’m looking forward to in 2016, and I know that this will be our best year yet, so I’m putting on my big girl pants, dealing with my son’s 213984209384th cold this winter and getting ready for the start of another great new year for the Moores. Here are just 10 things I can’t wait for in 2016.
one // We’ll be celebrating our second wedding anniversary next week! It’s amazing to think of all we accomplished in the first couple years of our marriage, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. We’ll really be tackling budget-making, planning and financial peace in 2016, so I’m interested to see where that takes us.
two // Though I’m 18 weeks pregnant, I’m excited to run more this next year. I barely managed to run while I was pregnant with Spencer, and I want to change that this time around. We ran the Lake Placid and Empire State half marathons in 2015…what will we do in 2016?
three // Baby Moore #2 will be joining us in June! Will it be a boy or a girl?! (We already know, and we’re meanies…keeping it to ourselves.)
four // Spencer learned to roll, crawl, walk and start to talk in 2015. I can’t wait to see what he learns in 2016. Or, perhaps I should rephrased that. I’m cautiously optimistic of what he might learn in 2016.
five // My little sister is getting married to the sweetest guy ever on September 24, 2016, and I can’t wait to celebrate her special day with her. It’s been a long time coming for these two, and they’ve tackled medical school and law school together, so I can’t wait to see them tackle wedding planning!
six // We’re planning to travel mostly around our NNY region in the next year. We spent a ton of time visiting family in NH and UT this year, as well as made trips to NJ and PA – all with a baby – and it was hard. I can’t wait to explore our area and have people visit us for a change.
seven // I started Weight Watchers in 2015 and lost 21 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight with Spencer. I didn’t reach my goal before getting pregnant again, but I got really close, and I’m excited to start working on my weight loss goals again after baby two is born.
eight // We have a ton of house projects we want to tackle this coming year. From putting in a backsplash in our kitchen, to building either a deck or a patio + pergola, to converting our upstairs bathroom to a dual vanity, we’ve got our hands full!
nine // I’d like to up my freelance work game this coming year or, perhaps, take on another little business venture. Though I love what I do, I’d really like something else on my plate, as well, to take some of the stress out of the day-to-day work.
ten // I’m excited to see where next year takes this little blog. It’s been an interesting transition year here, but I think I’m just getting my stride as a mama blogger…where will it take me next?
Have a safe and happy New Years, my sweet bloggy friends! See you in 2016!
