Happy Friday again, folks! I don’t know about you, but it was a super busy week over here that literally flew by. I’m glad for another sunny weekend ahead before the rain kicks in next week, and we have some fun plans ahead! While this week has been a whirlwind, it’s also been a great one, as a whole. I’m so appreciative for everyone’s sweet words of positivity and advice on my last post because, as any mama knows, this gig can be incredibly overwhelming at times.
As a whole though, we’re doing pretty well, and I’m learning to take it slowly…one day at a time. Sure, there’s a deployment looming over our heads, but we also have a great few holiday months ahead before that, and I’m looking forward to seeing family on both sides before Ryan has to leave again! And, you guessed it, that’s just one of the things on my happy list this week! Here are a few more.

1 // A small breakthrough with Porter.
I mentioned on my instagram that we’re going through a bit of a rough patch with this bean. He is so naughty. He does things just because he knows you don’t want him to do them, and he’s going through a hitting and kicking phase we don’t love. His teachers mentioned they let him have a full meltdown after taking away what he was hitting another child with the other day though, he worked through it in 10 minutes, got up, and hugged his teacher and friend. I know that sounds nuts, but that’s what we’ve been working towards, and I’m so grateful it’s starting to work.
2 // Our new bed (!!!)
This will get a post of its own next week, but ohmygosh, guys. This bed was our best purchase in a long time! We’ve had a Sleep Number since we got married almost five years ago, and it was a hefty purchase, so we were committed to it. The past few months – okay, a full year, really – we’ve been struggling with it. Honestly, I’ve been sleeping awful, and not just because of pregnancy pains. It’s been super uncomfortable. We invested in this beauty, and I’m so glad we did. For those asking, it’s from Zinus, and I’ll do a full post next week!
3 // Having our whole little family together.
It sounds so trivial, but we don’t have a lot of time together with Ryan’s schedule in his new unit. We’re grateful for the mornings that he’s able to see the boys before school, and we’re especially grateful for dinners together as a family. Those are the moments we definitely don’t take for granted.
I hope you all had a great week, as well, and that you have a fun weekend ahead! We’re deciding between a visit to a ghost town, a trip to Oktoberfest in Leavenworth, or a ferry ride over to Anderson Island. What would you choose? What’s on your happy list this week?
