friday favorites // welcome november

How is it November already?! I swear it was just August, and we were just starting to think about Halloween, which has officially come and gone. I don’t know about you, but I can now officially state that toddlers make Halloween one of the most magical times of the year. We had so much fun last night. It wasn’t even great weather out here…I mean, it actually drizzled half the time we went trick or treating, but the boys had a blast. We spent an hour going around our little DuPont community, and they were in heaven.

Spencer’s officially mastered the knocking on the door, saying “trick or treat,” and helping himself to candy haha but both my boys were so polite, and I was so proud. And, I mean, come on. They were pretty much the cutest Spiderman and baby shark you could’ve seen, right?! My blog mama heart had initially wanted to either a) create their costumes or b) choose them for them in the interest of cuteness, but both boys are becoming more and more independent. So, I put my inner blogger aside and told them to choose, and I’m so glad they did because they loved every second of it – and so did I.

Cheryl, Scott, and Carter came to trick or treat with us, and we had a good time handing out candy and spending an impromptu evening with family. Spencer and Porter loved being able to walk up to the doors with their nine-year-old cousin and, though I’m sure my boys’ little legs were annoying at times, he handled it like a boss, and I’m so glad they were able to come out to do it with us!

Now, we’re starting to get the show on the road for the rest of the holiday season, and that’s just insanity to me. We’re going to be busy the next couple months. Auntie Loralee (you may remember my beautiful friend from back when we were stationed at Fort Drum) is coming to visit us the second week of November, and Grandma and Papa, Ryan’s parents, will spend a week with us over Thanksgiving. Then, it’s full speed ahead, as we’re heading out to Boston/New Hampshire the second week of December, and I can’t wait. I’m ready for snow, family time, friends, and visiting with amazing bloggers like Biana from B Loved Boston while in town! SO excited.

Oh, and we’ve gotten the ball rolling on our Christmas cards early this year, as well fell into the late trap and had to send New Years’ cards after our trip to South Africa last year. If you’d like one from the Moore family (and trust me, we love sending cards), please drop your address in our Postable link here! We love having friends around the world to share the joy of the holiday season. I’m still in a little bit of denial that we’re already to the point that we’re thinking about the holidays, too, but I’m also so excited. Who loved decorating for the holidays? Just me?! I’ve already purchased the cutest new Christmas card holder for the year, and I can’t wait to start our Thankful tree (more on that later) for the holiday season!

And with that…happy November, friends! We have zero plans for this weekend, but I’m sure we’ll have fun nonetheless. I hope you do, too!
