Hi friends! It’s been a minute since I blogged – and for good reason! Last week was busy. I was officially 39 weeks pregnant, we were trying to get Ryan home from his deployment location for his parental leave (remember how I mentioned he was granted that?!), and we knew the clock was ticking. I really didn’t feel like posting much because I felt genuinely gross all week, and with so much personal stuff going on, I just wanted to focus on my boys and get ready – hoping baby would come sooner than later.
Spoiler alert: she did!
Mieke Jean Moore was born on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 7:44 PM, just two days shy of her due date.
Honestly, it’s been a whirlwind in the five days since she was born. We’re grateful to be home and, truth be told, I’m so glad to be done with the pregnancy and the birth. Pretty much everything I had hoped and planned for for this birth went out the window, but the end result is definitely well worth it.
I plan to type up her birth story in full within the next few days, but for now, we’re just soaking up the baby snuggles, enjoying this little bit of time with Ryan before he has to head back downrange for the next 6+ months of his deployment, and learning to be a family of five. Luckily, Mieke fits right in, and she’s like the missing piece to our little puzzle. We’re officially complete!
