Happy final Friday before Christmas, my friends! This week has been a long one, so I’m happier than ever to prep for a holiday without balancing work, the Army, and school. We’ve all kind of been scrambling to get things done this past week, and with work in high gear, I’m found myself pretty darn tired. So, to say I’m excited for this weekend would be an understatement. Even with all the crazy though, we’re still focusing on some wins for the week because, yes, there’s some light to the madness of 2020, too. So, without further ado, onto the wins!
Wins for the Week
1 // I finally started publicly sharing my photography
I’ll admit that I’ve been pretty nervous about sharing anything to do with my photography. I love it, and I’ve had so much fun thus far, but sharing and actually accepting requests from clients is another story! I’ve also been busy managing my own instagram, so adding a photography instagram on top of it was scary, but I did it! I’m also doing a shoot today and, one right after the holiday!
2 // I’ve run three times this week
Over the summer, I was running consistently four times a week, but since the weather turned and I got my job, I’ve found myself sliding backwards and running once or twice a week max. I know that running is my therapy, so I need to do it, and I’ve been forcing myself to take that break and get out there even when it doesn’t seem convenient. Thanks to NoxGear, those runs are usually at night, and now they’re safer.
3 // Joy & excitement surrounding the vaccine
I know there’s a long way to go before this vaccine is available for all, and I know that there are mixed opinions out there but I, for one, felt a renewed sense of hope in the first administrations of the COVID vaccine this week. Thinking that there could be a light at the end of this tunnel – finally – lifted my spirits considerably.
4 // Starting our PCS binder
We’re not quite to the point where we can share where we’re going yet, but I figured it was time to get our proverbial ducks in a row, and part of that meant getting a PCS binder together. It’s a way for me to organize everything from school records to dental/health forms, personal identification, moving checklists, and more all in one place. I’ll share more about this later!
5 // Christmas shopping is done!
I know I’ve said I always prefer experience gifts over physical gifts, but there’s also a joy in giving gifts, which lifts my heart each year. The boys had very elaborate lists this year, and our goal was to balance toys with fun, learning, and activities, as well. I think their gifts will be a surprising hit, and I hope the rest of my family’s are, too!
I’ve always thought that the weeks leading up to the holidays are by far the longest and, while fun and exciting, they’re also very stressful. It’s been a hard but beautiful year, and I’m ready to celebrate something and relax for the holidays – finally.
Tell me – what are your wins for the week?
