It’s time for the first Currently feature of 2021, and I couldn’t be more excited! If you’ve been reading this blog for some time, you know I’m a huge fangirl of Anne in Residence and her fun monthl feature where she encourages us to share five things we’re currently doing. She provides those current topics and tasks, and we simply divulge. It’s a great way to be a little extra introspective and have fun while we do. So, for Currently: The January Edition, we’re sharing what we’re beginning, feeling, organizing, resolving, and wondering. Ready?

Currently: The January Edition

Beginning // This has to be one of my most exciting months to date! I’m beginning to slowly but surely build my little photography business from the ground up. Last week, I made Missy Moore Photography official, and I made my website live. I also made an instagram, and I’m excited to be taking on a few clients, as well as doing a few styled shoots as I build up my creative portfolio. If you’d asked me a year ago if this is what I had planned for my own business, I would’ve laughed at you. Overall though, it’s seemed almost like a natural progression as I continue to hone my skills and shoot for this blog, as well. It’s been fun, and this is just the beginning!

Feeling // I’m kind of in a constant state of nervousness, excitable energy, and stress right now. It’s a good place to be, but it’s also a scary place to be! I feel positive about the future, but with so many huge changes on the horizon, it’s definitely a strange place to be, as well. I joked to a friend that I’m basically a golden retriever with all my frenetic energy, but I think it’s just that nervous energy before big changes come about.

Organizing // I’ve mentioned before that we usually try to do a massive purge of all the things before we move. Well, it’s begun. I’m sort of tackling things piece by piece right now though. I’m organizing random drawers of stuff that doesn’t need to move with us, and I took down all our Christmas decor (tree included) this past weekend. It felt good to get to a clean slate once more before we prepare to pack up our lives again.

Resolving // I shared my 2021 word of the year yesterday, and I’m exciting to continue in a spirit of positivity and hope in this strange new year. There is a lot of change on the horizon, but my goal is to remain as positive and forward-thinking as possible – all while staying in the moment.

Wondering // If you know me, you know I’m the most impatient person in the world. I’m always thinking about the next big thing. I’ve been trying to stay present though, so it’s a bit of a clash of wills. Right now though, I’m wondering just how this move will differ from our last. I know that we’re obviously going to a new location, but I wonder how the restrictions will look when we move. Will household goods be massively delayed again? Will we have to quarantine? What is our timeline like? It’s the opposite of staying in the moment, but I also feel like it grounds me in the reality of an ever-changing situation, if that makes sense.

That’s it for Currently: The January Edition! Have you linked up yet?!

If not, tell me – what are you currently beginning, feeling, organizing, resolving, and wondering as we charge headlong into 2021?
