5 on friday: wins for the week

wins for the week final february

Cheers to the final Friday of February, my friends! Even being my birthday month, I’m ready to see February go, so I’m stoked for another round of Wins for the Week. It’s been a busy week here for the Moore family. After time in Colorado with great friends (some would say family), we knew that we’d have to buckle down and focus on our upcoming PCS and all the tasks associated with it when we got back. So, true to form, we got down to business, and it’s been a chaotic week, to say the least. Plus, March feels a bit like spring is around the corner, and that gives me hope! Onto our Wins for the Week in the final week of February.

Wins for the Week

1 // We got our EFMP paperwork in

For those curious, I did a breakdown of 15 of my most common military acronyms on this blog, and that’ll better explain what I mean here. Essentially, our EFMP paperwork leads to our EFMP screening, which is the lynchpin for a command sponsored tour. Because this is a multi-year assignment in Korea, this is the big step towards us being approved on Ryan’s military orders to go with him. Needless to say, it’s a big deal!

2 // Mieke is getting comfortable with her mask

I posted on my Facebook the other day asking for suggestions regarding teaching our nearly 2-year-old to wear her mask. Until now, it hasn’t been required, and she’s been adamantly against it, so we haven’t forced the issue. She’ll be required to wear it on our flight to Korea though, so we’ve been working on building tolerance. Her preschool teachers have been so helpful with the process, and I’m eternally grateful!

3 // We’ve seen some teeny hints of spring

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Spring is fickle in the PNW. It rains…all. the. time. Just like winter. The temperature doesn’t really change, but the trees start budding, the birds come out, and we start seeing bunnies around the neighborhood. First sign of spring for me? I saw a bunny on my walk with Danny the other day!

4 // I assembled our PCS binder

For those curious, our PCS binder keeps all our information in one easily accessible place. I bought this PCS binder organization set from List & File, and I can’t recommend them enough. Honestly, these would work even if you’re just moving…they’re fantastic! I posted about it in my stories on instagram if you’re curious!

5 // We have a hike planned this weekend

I think it’s safe to say I’m not going to finish all the hikes on my bucket list, but we fully intend to do as many as we possibly can! Our favorite hiking buddies, the Hinojosa family, are coming with us as we tackle not one, but two glorious waterfalls this weekend. I’m pretty excited for this one because it’s been on my list for a while! Any guesses where?!

While I’m happy to see February go, I’m not excited to approach the one-year anniversary of when the world shut down. For some reason, it gives me a ton of anxiety about the past, the present, and the future. I’m determined, however, to continue seeking the good though!

Tell me – what are some of your wins for the week?
