5 on friday: wins for the week

wins for the week april 9

Happy Friday, friends! And seriously – TGIF. This has been such a weird week for us, in large part because we spent Monday and Tuesday off and at home because of quarantine and Ryan’s Easter 4-day. It was simultaneously good and bad because I feel like we lost a few days of the week in there, but we definitely made the most of it! So, we made it through the second week of April, and we’re officially well into the month, chipping away at our remaining time at JBLM. And, of course, it’s time for another round of Wins for the Week!

Wins for the Week

1 // I did my first promotion ceremony session

This was such an exciting one for me! I’ve been trucking along with my photography business, and I had the opportunity to photograph a promotion ceremony on post on Tuesday. I’ve done quite a few family sessions lately, but the military is obviously close to my heart, so this was a really special one to do. I’m working my way through editing their session now, and I can’t wait to share!

2 // We finally went on another family hike

Because Ryan was TDY all of March and then got COVID and we had to quarantine, we haven’t really done much hiking the month of March. We changed that with the most beautiful hike on Monday that I’ll share more about next week. The weather was perfect, the views were flawless, and it was such a great time with some of our very best friends here at JBLM.

3 // I completed my 10th Peloton ride

I know – it’s really not that much, but our Peloton has been such a game-changer for us. Having it in the garage so I can just hop on the bike at a moment’s notice has been huge, and it’s been a great stress reliever, too. I really love mixing up my runs with rides now, and I’m so glad we’ll be able to take our Peloton with us to Korea!

4 // I got my second vaccine

I am beyond grateful to say that I’m now fully vaccinated. While it will take a couple weeks for those immunities to kick in, there’s this feeling of a sort of light at the end of the tunnel, and I’m so grateful for that. Mostly, I’m beyond grateful for the military and JBLM for making this possible. Ryan will get his second dose soon, and we’re so glad.

5 // Our house at Fort Drum is finally on the market

This is the biggest of all our wins for the week right now! We were finally able to list our house at Fort Drum/Black River on the market, and I’m so grateful for the hard work of both our tenants and our realtor for making it possible. Here’s hoping for a swift and easy selling process!

We’re in the middle of such a weird time right now, and it’s kind of that proverbial calm before the storm. I know I keep saying it, but I know that when the chaos comes, it’ll come full force, so we’re doing our best to stay busy and have fun in the meantime. I have some big goals in the coming weeks – including starting a YouTube channel for this blog. (I mean, what?!) We think it’ll be a fun way to further document our adventures in Korea. So, if you know anything about YouTube or video editing, hit me up! Happy weekend, all!

Tell me, friends – what are some of your wins for the week?
