Remember how I mentioned in my last post that Korea’s weather couldn’t make up its mind? Well, it seems South Korea has decided we’ve reached fall (at least for the time being), and it’s been perfectly chilly and the absolute ideal temperature for outdoor adventures. Since Ryan had a long run this weekend, we decided to forgo a hike and, instead, made our way to Mancheonha Skywalk in Danyang, South Korea.
Mancheonha Skywalk in Danyang, South Korea
First opened in 2017, the Mancheonha Skywalk offers the perfect blend of sightseeing, a decent little walk, epic views, food (if you want it), and adventure a little bit off the beaten path. Just under two hours from Pyeongtaek, we knew we’d be far enough from post that we’d be in South Korea and really get to experience something like the locals. And, as luck would have it, we only saw one other American family at the Mancheonha Skywalk.
The Mancheonha Skywalk, itself, is pretty darn cheap. Once you park, you’re bussed to the entrance where you can purchase bus tickets up to the skywalk, the alpine coaster, or even the zipline from the top by the skywalk. We knew going in that our kids didn’t reach the height or weight requirements for either the coaster or the zipline, but we knew that a tasty treat at the top would soothe that little bummer for them.
Is the Mancheonha Skywalk Fun for the Whole Family?
Our kids loved every single part of our trip to the Mancheonha Skywalk; from the bus ride up, to the 90-meter walk up the pathway through the trees, to the locks at the base of the skywalk, to the views of the countryside beyond. Though they were a little bit apprehensive of the glass-bottomed walkways at first (just Spencer, really), they quickly got over it when they saw everything they could see.
We enjoyed watching folks zipline their way down the mountain, then we popped over to the cafe just down the hill for a cappuccino on a chilly day, as well as ice cream for the kiddos. The glass café offered equally spectacular views, and it was a crowd pleaser for all ages.
