If you had asked me last week whether I was going to do this post this year, I probably would have said no. Up until Saturday, our Christmas cards were completely missing in action. After purchasing them in early November with a projected delivery date of December 4th, we contacted Shutterfly and asked what our options were. So, they sent another batch of cards with a projected delivery date of December 17th…and they arrived. All of them. Finally. So, we’re rushing to send them out before Christmas and hopeful they’ll arrive early in the new year. But, without further ado, onto our 2021 Christmas Card!
Our 2021 Christmas Card from Shutterfly
For the past three years, we religiously ordered our Christmas cards from Basic Invite. This year, however, we changed it up and ordered from Shutterfly since we’re OCONUS. We heard that they had better delivery options for those overseas, so we crossed our fingers and placed our order.
Well, needless to say, our cards were late, but they did arrive, so I feel like we can’t complain too much. Usually we use our family photos from our yearly family photoshoot, but it felt strange to use our lupine family photos from Washington when we’ve been in South Korea for almost six months. Instead, we chose a little collage this year to go with our end-of-year update on the back.
Christmas Cards Through the Years
Do any of you keep your Christmas or holiday cards from the years before? I’d love to know what you do with them because I save ours each year as a little memento. It’s always super special to look back at where our family was in the grand scheme of things the year before. Last Christmas, we were in New Hampshire. The year before, we were in South Africa.
This year, we’re in South Korea. It’s different, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s sweet because we’re together. And, despite my annoyance that they took forever to arrive, I’m excited to finally send out our 2021 Christmas cards today!
Cheers to a beautiful holiday ahead, my friends! Did you send cards this year?
