I had all these great resolutions to post a lot more frequently in the first month of 2022, but here we are. It’s day 7 of January, and I’ve posted once. Whoops. To be fair, life lately has been a little crazy. Ryan’s been on restriction of movement (ROM) since Christmas Eve, which derailed our winter break plans, and with COVID madness running rampant on Camp Humphreys again, life lately has been a little closer to home. The kids and I have stayed busy with school, work, modeling jobs, and photography though, so it’s time for another round of life lately according to my iPhone (something I haven’t done since April of 2019 haha). I try hard to stick to my DSLR, but sometimes it’s just easier to snap whilst on the go.

Life Lately According to My iPhone

So, what else is new for us? Not too much, to be honest. We’re still on the fence about the two vs. three years in South Korea thing, and a lot of it depends on COVID. We’re pondering big life changes, dreaming big, enjoying quality family time, and honestly making concerted efforts to focus on ourselves, our parenting, and our mental health – kids included. What does life look like right now?

  • ROM for Ryan
  • School for kiddos, Mieke included
  • Starting to book and prep for the first photo sessions of the year
  • Lots of ramen dinner nights
  • Cold afternoon runs
  • Reconnecting with friends from JBLM who are now in South Korea
  • Many, many rides on the Peloton
  • Lots of puzzles
  • A butt ton of Sharkdog on Netflix (literally the best new kids’ show!)
  • Seven new plant babies in our home to brighten it up in the dead of winter

Even with COVID derailing seemingly everything again, we’re doing as well as we could hope for. I pray that the world someday rights itself and we find ourselves out of what I thought was a parallel universe in 2020 and 2021, but until then, we’ll just keep trucking along. And, for what it’s worth, I actually do have more things to share in the coming days (like the books I read in December), but we’ll get to those next week. For now though, happy Friday, my friends. I hope you enjoy these snippets of life lately according to my iPhone.
