Farewell, January, and helllooooooo February! I’ve never been so glad to say goodbye to a month as I am to be rid of our first January in South Korea. Between lockdown restrictions (again), the arctic winds, and the poor AQI, January felt eternal. So, I’m very positive and optimistic as we turn the page on February, welcoming my birthday month with joy! It’s time to link up again with Anne from Anne in Residence with her monthly feature – Currently – in which we share five things we’re currently doing. So, without further ado, it’s time for Currently: The February in Korea edition!
Currently: The February in Korea Edition
Making // I’ve been making a lot of bread this month. With supply chain shortages really showing in the commissary, I’ve been making a lot of our GF bread, and the kids are super happy. Beyond that, I’ve started the process of making some candles for our home, and it’s a lot of fun! I can’t wait to share.
Loving // We had our first proper snow day here in South Korea, and it was so fun! The kids actually all had off for Lunar New Year anyway, so we had no big plans, nowhere to be, and and just the joy of being able to build a snowman together and take it in stride. It was fun to spend that time together and experience real snow (vs the dustings from before) together.
Taking // I’m taking a lot of time for myself lately, and I haven’t been forcing myself to blog. Instead, I’ve been focusing that time into myself, and I’ve worked out for the past 24 days consistently. We’re making an effort to be healthier, and I gave up Red Bull entirely (cold turkey) about two weeks ago. It’s exciting to be taking this time to focus on health…inside and out.
Wanting // We’re wanting USFK to release its restrictions on us. It’s been really frustrating for Ryan, as he’s been on ROM since December 24th. We’re hopeful that as the weather begins to warm, restrictions will ease up, too, but we’re really just wanting to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel right now.
Wondering // I’m wondering what this summer holds in store for us! Ryan is likely deploying late this summer, and if he does, we’re thinking that I might head back to the States for a bit with the kids and Jasper. I’m wondering if it really will happen and, if it does, what will that even look like?! So many big things ahead.
I’m honestly really excited to be in a new month. I don’t know about you, but seasonal affect disorder (SAD) usually hits me pretty hard in January, and it hit me extra hard this year abroad. If you’re interested, Kait has some great advice and resources about SAD on her blog (just a side note for you!) Either way, that’s a wrap on Currently: the February in Korea edition. May many more sunny months lie ahead for all of us!
Tell me – what are you currently loving, making, taking, wanting, and wondering?
