Happy…Thursday…I guess? I’m officially long past the whole “I’m going to post three times a week,” thing. After nine years of blogging, I’ve found myself loving this space in bite-sized chunks. While I love that this blog is literally a story of our lives as a family, I’m also absolutely loving being present with my family, rather than trying to record it all the next day. The kids are growing up so fast, and it’s so important to me to be in it with them all the time. I didn’t actually ever get around to doing my September “Currently” post, so I’m sharing it today instead! So, without further ado, I’m sharing our Currently: September in Korea edition and what we’re currently loving, beginning, ending, picking, and posting.
Currently: September in Korea
Loving // I am absolutely loving these sneak peeks of our photos from my branding/family session I did a couple weeks ago with Leeann Mae Photography! I’ve needed new headshots for my photography business for a while, and I finally got to do them with Leeann, who just recently moved to South Korea from Okinawa! These are so special to me, and I will treasure them forever. Our last family photos were in Washington, and since Ryan is gone for the time being, this is us!
Beginning // I am beginning to purge my whole wardrobe. Why, you ask? Well, over the course of the last 8 months, I’ve lost almost 40 lbs. I went from a size 10 to a solid size 4, and most of my clothes hang off my body like a sack right now. So, I’m slowly investing in new pieces and purging the rest. It’s such a strange – and liberating – feeling!
Ending // I’m officially ending the summer streak of nonstop air conditioning in our home. While the past few days have still been humid and hot, our nights have been significantly cooler, and the mornings have actually been crisp, too. Our wallets will be very happy when we’re not running the AC all day every day anymore.
Picking // The kids and I have been picking out things we want to do with Oma and Opa when they visit because, yes, my parents are coming to visit us in South Korea! They’ll be here in a couple weeks, and I cannot wait! We’ve missed our families so much, and I’m honestly really excited to show my parents around this beautiful country.
Posting // Right now, we’re posting a LOT of pictures of our new Korean kitten, Steve Roger Moore, on my instagram! Since Stella died in 2019, I’ve had mixed feelings about adopting another bebe, but the timing felt good, and it honestly warms my heart that we managed to save one little animal here in South Korea. He’s a spicy little 16-week old Korean shorthair mix, and he’s absolutely ridiculous. He’s fit right in, and we love him!
So, there you have it, my friends. Currently, September in Korea is hot, busy, chaotic, fun, and just as exciting as last September – though Korea is much more familiar than it was last fall. Ryan’s career marketplace opens next month (like, in 16 days or so), so our little Army life is about to start moving again soon, and we’re low-key excited for big changes to come!
Tell me – what are you loving, beginning, ending, picking, and posting this September?
