What is this world we live in?! TWO whole blogs in a week? I know, I know. Don’t get used to it. Or do. Busy season for my photography is coming to a close, thankfully, and we’re gearing up for Ryan’s homecoming soon. Yes, he’s been gone for three months, and it’s been a wild three months of working, homeschooling, and living in a foreign country without my husband. But, it’s November, and that means it’s almost time for my favorite holiday (Thanksgiving!!!), and it’s time for Currently…and our final November in Korea.

Currently: November in Korea

October definitely ended on a tragic note here in South Korea. For those watching the news, there was a massive crowd surge in Itaewon (Seoul) just before Halloween that resulted in the deaths of 156 people. In solidarity with our host nation, USFK canceled Halloween, unfortunately. The kids were incredibly bummed, but we were grateful that we got to wear our costumes to Mieke’s school party on Friday before the tragedy, and we had a little Halloween eve celebration at home to mark the day. It definitely made the turn of the calendar sweeter for us though.

Borrowing // I don’t actually think I am currently borrowing anything, unless you count books from Kindle Unlimited. I tend to virtually “check out” too many books at once, so I now borrow, like, four at a time and hoard my favorites for time and all eternity because I need them there.

Buying // We recently bought both the boys scooters because it’s easier for me to run with all three kids if Mieke is in the stroller and the boys are on scooters. I can keep up my pace a little better, and the boys don’t fuss nearly as much. I’m also very slowly starting to buy Christmas presents. I’m also starting to think about purchasing our Christmas cards because it took 29038432 years for our 2021 Christmas cards to arrive in Korea last year.

Planning // Right now, I’m planning a girls’ weekend! Since Ryan’s been gone for three months, I’ve had very few spare moments to myself, especially with homeschooling. Gracious friends have watched the kiddos a few times so I could go for a long run or do a session, but I really haven’t had any me time. So, I’m planning a girls’ weekend to Seoul shortly after Ryan comes home with my friend Shauna. I can’t wait to explore and enjoy the city without little humans in tow because, even if it’s super fun with them, it’s an added element of stress that I look forward to a weekend without.

Prepping // As crazy as it is to think about, I’ve begun prepping for our move next summer. I know…what?! How did we get here so fast already? It seems like just yesterday we were prepping for our move to South Korea, and now we’re prepping for our next move. No, we don’t know where we’re going yet, but we’ve heard a few whispers here and there. Whether they’re true or now, who knows? But decluttering has begun, and I’ve started labeling what’s coming, what isn’t, and what we might want to purchase before we leave.

Reading // Shockingly (or not shocking at all), my reading has taken a backseat during busy season and Ryan’s current deployment. I’m currently in the middle of From These Dark Depths by Vanessa Rasanen. It took a bit to get into it, but I’m loving it like I loved the first again finally!

So, that’s a wrap for Currently: November in Korea! Time is flying. I feel like I always say that, but it really is. Who knows where the next months will take us?

Tell me – what are you currently borrowing, planning, buying, prepping, and reading this November?
