Have you heard about KBeauty? For those unfamiliar, KBeauty is Korean Beauty, and while living in South Korea, we discovered just how amazing the Korean market is for skin, hair, and body care products. You might remember that I had Smile Lasik done in Seoul, and it was the best decision I ever made. I also found some of the absolute best skincare products for both mine and Ryan’s skin – stuff that we still use in the US, too. So, I wanted to share some of those things with everyone else, as well.

How We Found Our Favorite KBeauty Products

Korea has the market cornered on aesthetics, and I will die on that hill. There is absolutely a standard of beauty and both femininity and masculinity in Korea and, for better or worse, they’ve created hundreds of lines of products to help guide people into getting closer to that standard of beauty.

Now, I will absolutely caveat this entire post with that fact that I am poor, at best, when it comes to beauty. While I wear makeup daily, until living in Korea, I basically used baby wipes to remove my makeup every evening. And yes, the Korean salesperson I first spoke to me looked horrified when I admitted that. After overcoming their horror though, they helped me find products to serve both mine and Ryan’s skin.

Our 5 Favorite KBeauty Products

I have really easygoing skin. It’s neither dry nor oily, and the only thing I really needed to take into consideration was that I needed some proper sun protection. Ryan, too, needed sun protection, as his skin is extremely fair (because he’s a redhead). We both wanted a daily sunscreen and, bonus points if it was hydrating, of course. I also wanted to use some products to better refine and cleanse my skin if at all possible. Furthermore, my only real “problem” area are my dark undereye circles. So, taking that into account, here are the products we found and love:

Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum – I apply a tiny bit to my undereye area each evening before bed. (A little goes a long way!)

CosRx Propolis Light Ampoule – I use this every morning and add just a tiny bit to my cheekbones and forehead for a healthy, fresh look.

Innisfree Intensive Hydrating Eye Roll-On – I love the cooling roller, and I use it every morning when I wake up to refresh.

Jeju Volcanic Lava Anti-Dust Pore-Cleansing Foam – This is hands-down the best cleanser ever, and it’s ultra-smooth and smells great.

Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream – This is the best moisturizer I’ve ever used. It’s rich but not greasy, and a little goes a really long way. One product lasts at least a month.

Where to Buy KBeauty Products from the United States

Korea has skincare stores everywhere, but you might be surprised to learn it’s actually pretty easy to find products from the States, too, thankfully! While I easily find almost all of my favorite products on Amazon, here are some other places you can find KBeauty products online from the US:

It’s worth noting that you have to look at the ingredients when purchasing KBeauty products. Because fair/light skin is “in” in Korea (and Asia, as a whole), many products contain lightening agents in them. None of our favorite KBeauty products contain any, thankfully, but it’s definitely something to look out for! These products are also much cheaper in Korea than from the US, but I promise you, they’re worth every penny!

Tell me – have you ever used or tried any KBeauty products?
