Y’all, we are barely into March and, oh my goodness, life is already so busy this month. In case you missed my last post, we are officially PCSing back to Camp Humphreys, South Korea! To say that we’re excited would be the understatement of the century. We are beyond thrilled, and we cannot wait to be back on the peninsula. Never has a place felt like home quite like South Korea, so we are so excited to be back there for Ryan’s final three years in the military. And, with any luck, we’ll stay in Asia permanently. Since it’s the first week of the month, it’s time for Currently, in which we share five things we’re currently doing this March 2025 in Alaska.

Loving // We are absolutely loving these warmer days here in Fairbanks! I mean, “warm” is relative in interior Alaska, but it’s been consistently near 40F all week, and it’s felt so nice. Coupled with 10+ hours of daylight, and it almost feels like spring is on the horizon. Now, I’m just doing my best to remind myself that this is Fool’s Spring, and it will get colder again…just hopefully not for long!
Craving // I’m craving sunny days! I know that this is probably meant to do with food, but I’m craving long, long days with plenty of sun, neighborhood picnics, and fun outside all day, every day. We actually had our first little cul-de-sac gathering here on Normandy Ct. with our neighbors this past weekend, and it was so nice. Cheers to (hopefully) a bunch more before we move.
Pinning // I’m not really pinning anything right now, though my Pinterest is very active. If anything, I’m pinning PCS prep solutions because, holy moly, it’s coming fast. I’m hoping that we can travel with far less than we did last time because we were heading for a 14-day quarantine last time. This time should, in theory, be much smoother.
Planning // Since everything revolves around our upcoming PCS right now, we’re planning many, many, many things. Right now, Ryan’s report date is April 15th and, yes, you did read that correctly. We were anticipating later this summer, so we’re in a whole flurry of activity now. We did ask to defer a month, and for the time being, we’re planning getting Danny to my parents’ house, what to pack, what to sell, what’s worth keeping, and so on.
Appreciating // Right now, I’m appreciating the little things about our time here in Alaska. We needed to come here to realize that Korea is home. We needed to reestablish our “why” about homeschooling and what our family thrives on. I’m appreciating our neighbors, our little community, our church, and the quiet, but it’s also making me so excited for what’s to come.
March 2025 in Alaska is a season of change. Literally. Everything is changing in the next few months, and this is our final military move. I have so much left to share about my trip to the Czech Republic, but it felt fitting to put out this month’s “Currently” before anything else. Because, for better or worse, we’re currently excited, thrilled, and filled with anticipation of what’s to come.
