Guys, I never intentionally took a month (plus) off from this space, but I’d be lying if I said anything about the last five weeks of this pregnancy have been easy. I’ve honestly wanted to hibernate, hide from the world, and really just sort of stay off the radar of most people. On a good day, I’ll say I’m an extroverted introvert, but I’ve definitely been erring on the side of supreme introvert lately. But, I put on my big girl pants and decided to get back at it – in some capacity, at least – today. So, it’s October 2025 in Korea, and it’s time for this month’s “Currently”!

Loving // The days are ever-so-slowly getting cooler here in South Korea and, after a very hot summer, it’s been wonderful savoring this gradual decline into fall here on the peninsula. I’ll be honest; we haven’t done much because I’ve been so uncomfortable, but having the days in the mid-70s, plenty of sun, cooler evenings, and no sign of snow in sight has been such a welcome change from fall in Alaska. We’re very quickly nearing the end of this pregnancy, and I can’t wait to savor the last vestiges of fall with my people and our new additions.

Anticipating // While I’ve been pretty inactive here, I’ve been pretty active on my instagram lately (mostly because it’s so easy), and as I shared, we’re on our final full week of this pregnancy! I’m not sharing exactly when the babies are coming for a few reasons. First, I’ve felt kind of guarded about the whole thing, and second, things can change on a dime. I spent two weekends ago in preterm labor at a Korean hospital, so now I’m basically doing nothing but waiting for D-Day.

Looking Forward to // Would it be selfish to say I’m looking forward to taking a deep breath again?! But seriously, I’m looking forward to feeling – and being – more mobile again. I knew a twin pregnancy would have its own unique challenges, but wow. It’s lightyears beyond what I expected. I’m looking forward to comfortably being able to move around and do things, see things, and explore with my people again. Historically, I do better the minute our babies emerge, so I’m hoping and looking forward to that (hopefully) being the case again!

Wearing // Well, that’s just mean. I wear nothing of note, guys. I’m in sweats and tanks because I refuse to buy maternity clothes, I’m not going anywhere, and the end is in sight. I’ve never been so excited to wear real clothes again.

Cooking // Being on my feet for more than about 30 minutes at a time is actual hell right now, but I’ve been doing my best to cook and prep some things for those immediate post-baby days. I’ve been batch-making pancakes for quick breakfasts on the Blackstone, and we’ve made a lot of soups that are good for quick eats on sports nights. We’re also big into homemade gimbap right now!

October 2025 in Korea is officially baby month, and I am here for it. We’re as ready as we can be for the chaos, and I’m so excited to be able to feel and act like a human again. The kids have been so patient with me as we navigate these upcoming changes, we’re still tackling homeschooling, and we’re loving our rhythm (chaos included) here in Korea. Things can only get better and better from here!
